Privacy Policy

Darty McDartface ("Darty", "we", "us") makes a dart scoring app for the web and tablets. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect and what we do with it. It applies to both the Darty scoring app and the Darty website.
What we collect
- Account details. If you sign in with an account provider (Google), we receive your name and email address from them.
- Game data. The games, scores, players, and statistics you record while using the app.
- Waitlist email. If you join the beta waitlist, we keep the email address you give us.
- Bot-protection signals. On sign-up, password-reset, and waitlist forms, we use Cloudflare Turnstile — a challenge widget that runs in your browser — to tell humans from bots. It may use device, browser, and network signals (including your IP address) to do this; we only see whether you passed, not the underlying signals.
- Settings. Your preferences — such as theme and game options — which we save so they can follow you across the devices you sign in on.
- Usage analytics. How you interact with Darty — pages viewed, games started and finished, and similar events — along with basic device, browser, and approximate location (estimated from your IP address). We use a third-party analytics provider, PostHog, to collect and store this so we can understand how Darty is used and improve it.
- Basic technical data. Standard logs such as device type and rough usage, used to keep the app running and to fix problems.
How we use it
We use the information above to provide and improve Darty. Specifically:
- To run the app — scoring games, saving history, and showing your statistics.
- To sync your games across the devices you sign in on.
- To contact you about the private beta, if you joined the waitlist.
- To understand how Darty is used — which features and game types people reach for — so we can improve it.
- To keep the service secure and to fix bugs.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show you third-party advertising.
Where your data lives
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Darty: Google for sign-in, Amazon Web Services for hosting, Neon for our database, Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on our sign-up and waitlist forms, and PostHog for product analytics. Analytics requests travel through a reverse proxy hosted by Cloudflare on our own domain before reaching PostHog. These providers only process your data so that Darty can work, and your usage data is stored in PostHog. PostHog and our analytics servers are located in the United States.
Your choices
- You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it.
- You can clear the settings stored on your device through your browser at any time.
- You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails using the link in any email we send.
Children
Darty is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
